So you’ve decided to start eating “clean” this New Year? What does clean mean? It means reducing or eliminating sugar, carbs, caffeine, artificial sweeteners, additives, preservatives,  and eating what is fresh and living and available.  This really is the best form of nutrition for your body! I’ve seen and tried it all. I know not one thing works for everyone, but if there is one “diet” shall I say, that works for most people and that is still satisfying and can still allow you to have things you love, it’s clean eating. Just cut the processed and packaged foods from your life and you will eliminate so much sugar, fat, carbs, artificial sweeteners and the fake and hidden ingredients that you can’t pronounce and are making you sick and fat! There… I said it!!!  Now… you need some fresh and clean ideas because the only clean thing you can think of is a salad? Well, here you go….
Breakfast
● 2 Hardboiled eggs (or 3 egg whites)
● Scrambled eggs with salsa
● Scrambled eggs with avocado
● Avocado toast (whole grain toast with 1 avocado on top)
● Whole grain toast with coconut oil (spread generously on top)
● Protein Shake
● Green Smoothie
● Greek Yogurt with berries or granola
● Whole grain toast with peanut butter
● Fruit and whole grain bagel
● Spinach (or any veggie) omelet
● Protein pancakes (2 eggs, 1 banana, scoop vanilla protein)
● Protein bar or other meal replacement bar
● Whole grain cereal with almond milk
● Steel cut oats with berries or honey
Lunch
● Chicken salad w/ whole grain bread or crackers
● Tuna salad w/ whole grain bread or crackers
● Spinach salad with almonds & cranberries
● Grilled chicken salad, balsamic dressing
● Ground turkey salad with black beans, corn, avocado, salsa
● Lean turkey sandwich, veggies or fruit
● Cottage cheese with fruit, lean turkey
● Turkey burger- with or without whole grain bread
● Tomato/cucumber/mozzarella salad with grilled chicken breast
● Meal replacement shake or bar
● Burger with all toppings, no bun
● Cheese stick, grapes, whole grain or gluten free crackers
● Quinoa or brown rice bowl with chicken or veggies
● Grilled cheese /tomato or avocado sandwich on whole grain
● Turkey or chicken wrap
